I remember during the war when children sent/were sent to our village.We didn't understand/weren't understood why they came and the poor girls and boys weren't always given/didn't always give a very warm welcome . I remember a boy who called/was called Harold.He sat / was sat nect to me and was cried / cried a lot . The children were placed / placed with families ....host families. After the war , they went to home and we never were seen / saw them again
